Pittsfield lifts boil water order

PITTSFIELD, Maine – A boil water that had been in effect in Pittsfield since Wednesday night was lifted Friday afternoon by town officials.

Pittsfield had been under the order since a 10-inch water main on Main Street broke Wednesday afternoon, triggering two other breaks nearby. Most residents in Pittsfield were without water for much of Thursday, but it was turned back on in the early afternoon.

Town officials said all repairs have been made and the two water tanks, one on Phillips Corner Road and the other on Route 100 North, have recharged and filled.
