ORRINGTON, Maine — Josh Stone, a member of Boy Scout Troop 44 in Orrington, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

He began Scouts as a Tiger Cub in September 1999. His Eagle Scout project consisted of a year of fundraising, then building a playground called Noah’s Ark at his home church, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on North Main Street in Brewer.

Stone is a sophomore at Brewer High School where he plays soccer and participates in indoor and outdoor track.

Stone extends his thanks to everyone who helped and supported him on his road to becoming an Eagle Scout. His great-grandmother Ethelyn Morrill of Orrington is especially proud of his new Eagle Scout status.
