Millinocket chooses three for council

MILLINOCKET, Maine — Scott Gonya was re-elected Tuesday to the Town Council and will be joined by newcomers John Raymond and Michael A. Madore.

Gonya was the leading recipient of votes in the election, with 1,782, while Raymond received 1,021 and Madore, 998, Town Clerk Roxanne Johnson said.

Candidates Marsha Donahue received 801; Laura Manzo, 793; Alyce Maragus, 594; Gilda Stratton, 443; Robert Curlew, 396 and Dale Hayes, 347.

School Committee Chairman Thomas Malcolm and Kevin Gregory were elected to the school board. Malcolm received 1,831 votes, while Gregory received 2,025.
