GOP: McCain headed to Maine

Posted Oct. 29, 2008, at 4:23 p.m.

BANGOR, Maine – Maine Republican officials say GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain will be in Maine before Election Day “to talk directly to Maine voters about his plans to lower our taxes, reduce wasteful government spending and get our economy back on track.”

GOP officials made the announcement today as Democratic National Committee Chiarman Howard Dean was in Orono to campaign for Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

There were no specifics about McCain’s visit available Wednesday evening.

McCain’s visit would be the second by the GOP ticket to Maine in the last few weeks. Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin addressed a crowd of about 5,000 people at a rally in Bangor about two weeks ago.
