ANSON, Maine — Police say a 55-year-old Farmington man died when his pickup truck plunged from a snowmobile bridge after it got stuck on a woods road in Anson.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Department says Bruce Frederick’s truck got stuck while he and 57-year-old Kerry Kendall of Gardiner were bird hunting Saturday. Kendall got out to direct Frederick, but while trying to get his truck free Frederick drove off the bridge and into a stream.

Kendall jumped into the water in an attempt to rescue Frederick before the truck sank, but was unable to do so. He then called for help. printed on July 21, 2017
