ANSON, Maine — Police say a 55-year-old Farmington man died when his pickup truck plunged from a snowmobile bridge after it got stuck on a woods road in Anson.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Department says Bruce Frederick’s truck got stuck while he and 57-year-old Kerry Kendall of Gardiner were bird hunting Saturday. Kendall got out to direct Frederick, but while trying to get his truck free Frederick drove off the bridge and into a stream.

Kendall jumped into the water in an attempt to rescue Frederick before the truck sank, but was unable to do so. He then called for help.
