ORLAND – Terry B. Harriman, 49, passed away peacefully Oct. 11, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 31, 1959, in Castine, son of L. Gerry (Shaw) and M. Gilman Harriman, who have both since passed on. An avid deer hunter and fisherman, he was always known to be running around Gilpin. He retired September 2007, from the Maine Department of Transportation, Orland, after 19 years of service, where he most recently operated “his grader.” The joys of his life were his girls, Brandy Goss and her husband, Jon, of Bucksport and April Ashmore of Orland; and his new grandchildren, Addison Jean and Trent Ryan Goss. Terry is survived by his wife of 24 years, Heather (Powers) Harriman; brothers and sisters, Rose Hamm of Waterville, Paul Sanborn and his wife, Kathy, of South Carolina, Jill Sanborn of Orland, Janice Wardwell and her husband, Joel, of Bucksport, Raymond Fogg and his wife, Dawn, of Glenburn, Andrea Caldwell and her husband, Jim, of Liberty, Ruthann Luttrell and her husband, Mark, of Orland, Nikki Smith and her husband, Alan, of Orland, Cecelia Ames and her husband, Rusty, of Verona, Garry Harriman and his wife, Kathy, of Bucksport and Alice Davis; several special nieces and nephews; many friends, including Brian Wardwell and Tom McKenzie, both of Orland. He was sadly predeceased by his brother, Robert “Bobby” L. Sanborn Jr. Special thanks to Sue Davis for all her help. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held noon Wednesday, Oct. 15, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating at Terry and Heather’s home, 340 Castine Road, Orland, with a reception immediately after.
