Two brothers, a bunch of toasters and enough repressed anger to power a small city: that’s the very basic gist of Sam Shepard’s brilliant 1980 play “True West.” The Belfast Maskers will perform the play starting Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Maskers Waterfront Theater on Front Street in downtown Belfast. Di-rector Jeri Pitcher tells the story of brothers Lee and Austin, a scrappy drunk and a struggling screen-writer, respectively, and the confrontation the two head straight into over the course of the play. The small cast consists of longtime Maskers actors Erik Perkins, James Clayton, Scott Smith and Kathleen Horan, the latter three of whom are pictured here. The show runs at 8 p.m. Oct. 9-11 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 12, and again at 8 p.m. Oct. 16-18 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 19. For more information, call 338-9668.
