Burns leads Colby past Middlebury

WATERVILLE, Maine — The Colby College Mules christened their new Harold Alfond Stadium with a victory Saturday, edging Middlebury College 24-19 and rushing for 223 total yards.

Colby quarterback Patrick Burns completed 11 of 21 passes for 92 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 62 yards on 13 carries.

At Brunswick, Aaron Rauh accounted for 121 of Amherst College’s 278 rushing yards as the Lord Jeffs downed the Polar Bears despite a solid effort from Bow-doin quarterback Oliver Kell, who completed 20 of 37 passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns.
