PITTSFIELD, Maine — Anyone seeking information and options on saving energy in their homes and businesses is invited to Monday night’s second Pittsfield Area Energy Forum, set for 6:30 p.m. at Vickery School gymnasium.
Town Manager Kathryn Ruth said that the first forum last year was such a success that more than 40 companies, agencies and organizations have been invited to set up booths and provide information.
“There has been significant interest in attending this event,” Ruth said. “The focus of the evening is to provide information and options for individuals, businesses and organizations to explore in order to be more energy conscious and to better be able to make decisions that will assist with energy conservation and the cost of services.”
The keynote speaker for the evening is Richard Fortier, the solar program manager with the Public Utilities Commission. Also speaking will be state Rep. Stacey Fitts, who serves on the governor’s wind power task force. He will provide an update of the task force’s progress in identifying sites for wind farms in Maine.
