PORTAGE LAKE – William F. Bolstridge, 89, died Nov. 17, 2003, at a Westfield healthcare facility. He was born June 17, 1914, at Portage Lake, the son of Wallace and Edith (Clark) Bolstridge. He was employed by the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad for 39 years. Bill was a member of the Masonic Pioneer Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star of Ashland for 60 years. He is survived by one daughter, Gloria Belanger of Portage Lake; three brothers, Floyd Bolstridge of East Millinocket, Charles Bolstridge of Boise, Idaho, and Gerald Bolstridge of Chicopee, Mass.; three sisters, Louisa Bartlett and Lucy Allen, both of Presque Isle; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. He was predeceased by his wife, Blanch (Bragdon) Bolstridge, in 1996; and by a son, Malcolm Bolstridge, in 1940. Relatives and friends may call 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Alan Chamberlin officiating. Interment will be in the Portage Lake Municipal Cemetery.
