WILLIAM ‘BUD’ T. LEPPER

BLUE HILL – William “Bud” T. Lepper, 83, died Sept. 25, 2006, at a Deer Isle health care facility. He was born June 20, 1923, in Hartford, Conn., the son of William T. and Mildred L. (Sisson) Lepper. Bud served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He served in England with the 8th Air Force. He graduated from Norwich University and received his commission as second lieutenant. While living in Connecticut, Bud was involved in the greater Hartford YMCA and in Maine, was a member and past deacon of the First Baptist Church of Blue Hill. He worked for the FIA and then worked for several insurance agencies in Connecticut and Maine. He worked for the State of Maine as an insurance claims examiner. Bud is survived by daughters, Deborah Carter and her husband, Robert, and Lorinda Sawyer, both of Blue Hill; one son, James “Jim” Lepper and his wife, Nada, of Sedgwick; grandchildren, Jeremy Carter and his wife, Lindsey, Joshua Carter, Joseph Carter, all of Blue Hill, Jason Lepper and wife, Cammie, of Brooksville, Betsy Stephens and her husband, Joshua, of South Casco and Tyler Sawyer of Blue Hill; two great-grandchildren, Ashton Carter of Blue Hill and Cole Lepper of Brooksville; brother, John C. Lepper of Wethersfield, Conn.; brother-in-law, Gordon Hiscock and his wife, Edith, of East Hartford, Conn. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth in 2005. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Mountain View Cemetery, Blue Hill, with Gary Wilson officiating.
