BANGOR, PRESQUE ISLE, PORTAGE and ENFIELD, Conn. Wilfrid C. “Pete” Cormier, 79, of Enfield, Conn., formerly of St. Petersburg, Fla., entered into his eternal rest Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, in Spokane, Wash. Born Dec. 21, 1928, in Portage, he was the son of the late John J. and Edith (Cyr) Cormier. Wilfrid graduated from John Bapst Memorial High School, Bangor. He served in the Army from 1948 to 1951 and then worked as a machinist at Hamilton Standard, Windsor Locks, Conn., for more than 30 years. Shortly after retirement, Wilfrid moved to Florida, where he enjoyed riding his wave runner, bowling and walking at the beach. Wilfrid is survived by his children, John J. Cormier and his wife, Karen, of Cedar Hills, Mo.; his daughters, Patricia Danielson and her husband, David, of Suffield, Conn., and Sharon Taylor of Spokane, Wash.; his brothers, Robert Cormier and his wife, Alice, and Leo Cormier and his wife, Beatrice, all of Maine; his sister, Jean Petrovcin and her husband, Steve, of Florida; and his five grandchildren, Jeff and Eric Taylor, Kimberlee Cormier and Erika and Ian Danielson. Wilfrid was predeceased by his beloved wife of 35 years, Merita (Doucette) Cormier; a daughter, Janice Cormier; four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at Leete-Stevens Enfield Cha-pel in the spring. Private inurnment will be held in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Enfield, Conn.
