ORRINGTON – Wilbert T. Corro, 81, husband of the late Marise H. (Brown) Corro, died April 22, 2006, at a Bangor healthcare center. He was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Lincoln, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Frazier) Corro. Wilbert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre. He was employed in sales for nearly 20 years for Briggs Distributors and Haffenreffer Distributors and he worked for several years in plumbing and heating with Davenport Plumbing & Heating and Roger Williams. Wilbert finished his working career with 16 years at Dock Works in Winterport. Surviving are three children, Mary Proulx and her husband, Gary, of Orrington, Wilbert Corro Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Old Town and Stephen Corro and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Theresa Thompson of Orrington, Jerry Proulx of Florida, Michelle Cummings of Auburn and Dustin Corro of Bowdoinham; five great-grandchildren, Joseph Thompson, Kayla and Jordan Cummings, Jadon and Dalton Proulx; one brother, Harvard Corro and his wife, Carole, of Brewer; one sister, Geraldine Crocker and her husband, Ronald, of Lee; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years in February 2006; one sister, Carolyn Ciarrochi; and by a very close friend, Roland Ginn of Winterport. Family and friends may visit 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer where a memorial service celebrating Wilbert’s life will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson, presiding. Burial with military honors will be at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta.
