MARS HILL – Wallie P. Wilson, 93, died Dec. 26, 2003, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born July 24, 1910, in Mars Hill, the son of John and Annie (Whorton) Wilson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Wallie owned and operated Wilson’s Jewelry Store in Mars Hill for more than 45 years. He had been a member of the American Legion in Easton. Included in his life’s greatest loves were the Red Sox, Gardening, fishing and Harness Racing. Surviving him is his wife, Phyllis H. Wilson of Mars Hill; a daughter and her husband, Suzanne J. and Michael Adams of Easton; grandchildren, Clinton Adams and his wife, Kristie, Cameron Adams and his friend, Barb, Adam Wilson and his wife, Lynn, David Wilson and his friend, Heather, and Sarah Wilson Proctor and her husband, Justin; two great-grandchildren, Blake Wilson Proctor and Logan Wilson, a daughter-in-law, Patty Wilson of Millinocket; two stepchildren, Ronald and Jay Nightingale; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceasing him was his first wife, Evelyn (Mullen) Wilson; a son, Rodney P. Wilson; and two brothers, Donald and Lafayette Wilson. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at the Duncan Funeral Home on Main Street in Mars Hill, with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. A spring interment will be in the Kings Grove Cemetery in Mars Hill.
