ORRINGTON – Virgil B. Crook, 87, died Feb. 24, 2007, at a Brewer health care facility. He was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Brewer, the son of Roy B. and Odessa M. (Anderson) Crook. Virgil attended Brewer schools and graduated from Brewer High School in 1935. He was a self-employed dairy farmer in Orrington and the tax assessor for 35 years. Virgil was a member of the Orrington Volunteer Fire Department and the Grange for many years. He is survived by his wife, Wilhelmena “Billie” (Micue) Crook of Bangor; a daughter, Wilhelmena Spencer and her husband, Charles; two grandchildren, Bruce and Holly Spencer; a great-grandchild, Jayleen Spencer, all of Ellsworth; a special niece and nephew, Jeanie and Eddie Taylor of Brownville. Graveside funeral services will be announced in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery, Brewer. A service of Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer.
