VELMA L. (HUNTLEY) GRANT

MACHIAS – Velma L. (Hutley) Grant passed onto a better life, March 29, 2008, after years of extended illness at Down East Memorial Hospital, Machias. She was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Cutler, the daughter of Macy and Dorothy Huntley. Surviving, in addition to her mother, Dorothy of Machias, are five children, Lorene Grant and friend, Morris Carr, of Holden, Wayne and wife, Bezzie Grant, of Marshfield, Paula Davis and friend, Mike Smith, of Jonesboro, Robert Grant of Marshfield and Jacky and husband, Gordon Davis, of Machiasport; two sisters, Maxine Sherman and husband, Tom, of Florida and Twyla Martin and husband, John, of North Carolina; 12 grandchildren, Christine Bragdon and friend, Ed, Michael Bragdon and friend, Courtney, both of Holden, Marie Bragdon and friend, Austin, of Bangor, William Grant and friend, Margaret, Jason Grant, both of Marshfield, Steven Grant and wife, Megan, of Southwest Harbor, Jennifer Davis and friend, Steve, Jessica Davis, both of Jonesboro, Michelle Moody and husband, Dennis, Tammy Davis and friend, Eric, both of Machiasport, Brittney Wallace and husband, Chuck, of Steuben and Brandon Grant of Emden; six great-grand-children, Emily Warman, Billie Paige Grant, Tyler Grant, Blaze Moody, Connor Grant and Maci Grant; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Grant; father, Macy Huntley; and granddaughter, Nicole Davis. Mother, we know God is taking care of you now. We love you and know that we will all be with you again someday. At Velma’s request, there will be no services.
