THEODORE ‘TED’ GIGGIE

MONROE – Theodore “Ted” W. Giggie Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 5, 2004. He was born in Patten, the sixth of seven children to Bernice Lloyd and Theodore Giggie Sr. In addition to his wife of 46 years, Marie Sampson Giggie, he is survived by his children, Royal Giggie of Monroe, Rose Giggie of Monroe, Merri Lee Giggie Harris and her husband, Ira, Theodore Scott Giggie and his wife, Valentina, of Monroe; grandchildren, Carrie Chambliss and husband, Jeff, Richard DiLaura and wife, Kelli, Melissa Hustus, John Giggie, Michael Dwyer, Shawn Dwyer, Renee Lugo, Heather Mitchell, Ronald Mitchell III, Christopher Giggie, Lazell Giggie; great-grandchildren, Devin Chambliss, Lara Chambliss, Kassidy DiLaura and Kayla DiLaura; a brother, Edwin of Madison; sisters, Phyllis Dickey of Augusta, Avis and Ralph Currier of Brewer, Ruth and Clyde Epperson of Augusta, Mary Lou Nealley of Monroe and Florida, Neva and Dale Moody of Monroe; brother-in-law, Tim and Gloria Sampson of Castine; a sister-in-law, Diane and Edwin Nickerson of Stockton Springs; many cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as many friends and neighbors. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, and was a carpenter and dairy farmer in Monroe for many years, serving on the Board of Selectmen for several years. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and bird watching. Above everything he loved and enjoyed his family. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 10 at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the MidCoast Christian Fellowship, Patterson Hill Road, Belfast. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthur Jewell Health Center, P.O.
