SSGT MICHAEL SEVERANCE

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS – Michael Severance, 24, died in San Angelo, Texas. He was born July 20, 1980, in Lincoln. A native of Lee, Michael graduated from Lee Academy with honors. He then went on to join the Air Force, stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas. SSGT Severance was part of the 317th air lift unit and a crew chief on C-130′s. Sergeant Severance was deployed five times, including three deployments in direct support of the global war on terror. Michael traveled extensively throughout the world and loved his job. Michael was a competitive person, whether it be running, skiing, or racing ATV’s, and most recently stock cars. Michael was a very optimistic person with a great personality and liked by all. Michael was predeceased by his mother, Valerie Ann Severance. He is survived by two sons, Shane Michael Severance and Tristan Davidson; father, Leslie Severance, Leslie’s companion, Brinda Leighton; brother, Frank Severance; and two sisters, Nicole and Brooke Leighton; grandmothers, Shirley Severance and Marsha Smith; aunts and uncles, Amber and Michael Duval, Renee and Rodney Witkos, Bradley Severance, Vivian Smith, David and Carol Smith, Virginia and Bill Beraneto, and Vicky and Stan Cole; special cousins, Bobby and Shirley Harvey, Cristi Peters; and several others. Michael is also remembered by many friends here as well as in Texas. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Clay Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark W. York officiating, with full military honors to follow at Steven’s Cemetery in Carroll.
