GREENVILLE – Ruth A. McEachern died at Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital in Greenville on Feb. 6, 2004, with her family by her side. She was born March 31, 1924, the daughter of Arthur H. and Nellie (Larrabee) Ward. Ruth attended Greenville schools and married Rance A. McEachern on May 12, l945. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her family. When not spending time with them, she was frequently seen on the Greenville Golf Courses. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, and being with her friends. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Rance A. McEachern; son and daughter-in-law, Hugh and Linda McEachern of Tampa, Fla. and Greenville; daughter, Lynne C. Harvey of California; brothers, Philip G. Ward of Hartford’s Point, Elmer C Ward, who resides with his wife, Deanna, in Aurora; sister, Madeline Jordan, who resides with her husband, Harold, in Milford, N.H.; grandchildren, Jennifer L. McEachern and Rance C. McEachern of Tampa and Greenville, Kimberly A. Harvey of Verona Island, Benjamin B. Harvey of Bangor, Kate L. Harvey of Winterport; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Rance Jr. and Kirk; brother, Arthur; and sister, Nina (Ward) Crossman. It was her request that, after her death, those who wish may make donations in her name to the Peoples Methodist Church in Greenville Junction. Private graveside services at the Greenville Cemetery will be held in the spring.
