GARLAND – Robert L. Leavitt Sr., 64, died Aug. 10, 2004, as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was born June 21, 1940, in Exeter, a son of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Towle) Leavitt. Bob retired in 1999 as a supervisor at Dexter Shoe Co. He attended the Garland Baptist Church. Bob is survived by his wife, Glenice (Hamilton) Leavitt of Garland; his stepmother, Helen Leavitt of Newport; four sons, Michael and wife, Deedra, of Corinth, Brian and wife, Kristin, of Machias, Robert and friend, Missy Ann Mitchell, of Dexter, and Steven Leavitt of Hot Springs, Ark.; two foster daughters, Cora and Donna Gallow, both of Garland; three brothers, Richard and wife, Linda, of Ripley, Terry and Larry, both of Winterport; four sisters, Christine and Lorraine Leavitt, both of Dexter, Elaine Leavitt of Newport, Sharon and husband, Marshall Jeregon, of Winterport; six grandchildren, Krystle, Spencer, Mikaela, Morgan, Zachary and Cameron; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at the Garland Baptist Church, with the Rev. Barry Buzzell officiating. Burial will follow at West Garland Cemetery.
