ROBERT ‘BOB’ ALAN DELONG

BREWER – Robert “Bob” Alan DeLong, 68, died Friday July 11, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born Oct. 12, 1939, in Mapleton, the son of Rodney and Beulah (Ireland) DeLong. Bob was a graduate of Madison High School. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy, where he met his wife, Priscilla Strang. They married in 1959 in Honolulu. Bob enjoyed a career in journalism, working for the Brunswick Times Record and the Bangor Daily News, where he transferred to the photography department in the late ’70s. He is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla (Strang) DeLong; son, Michael DeLong and his wife, Tina Adams-DeLong, of Brewer; daughter, Karen DeLong of Brewer; brother, Darrell DeLong and his wife, Linda, of Sebago; sister, Sandra Conrad and her husband, John, of Winthrop; and grandchildren, Kendra DeLong and Lori Harrigan. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where a memorial ser-vice will be held 10 a.m. Wed-nesday, July 16, with the Rev.
