ROBERT B. SPELLMAN

BREWER – Robert Brown Spellman, 83, husband of Delma (Whitten) Spellman died April 19, 2006, at Orono Commons. He was born April 4, 1923, in Bangor, a son of Charles and Mary (Brown) Spellman. Bob attended Bangor Catholic schools. He was employed at Eastern Fine Paper for 48 years, where he worked as a paper trimmer. He enjoyed the time he spent at Branch Lake, since the time he was a small child. He also loved spending time working on his home, sharing time with his family, and going on his annual trips to the Boston Red Sox games. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Delma; two children, Susan and husband, Gordon Stitham, of Orrington and Robert Jr. and wife, Laura, of South Portland; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily, and Cory; three brothers, Richard, Thomas, and Roland; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by one brother, Charles Spellman Jr.; and a very special aunt, Frances Brown. Bob’s family extends a special thank you to New England Home Healthcare, CHCS, and Orono Commons for the wonderful care Bob received. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-8 p.m. Friday at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio Street, Bangor, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor, presider. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery.
