EASTPORT – Richard Philip Flagg, 61, lifelong resident of Eastport died unexpectedly Feb. 8, 2006. Richard was born Dec. 20, 1944, in Eastport, son of Robinson and Edith Flagg. He attended local schools and graduated from Shead Memorial High School in 1963. Richard operated the family businesses, Flagg’s Furniture and Flagg’s Funeral Home in Eastport for many years. He was a Rotarian, volunteer firefighter and active in the airport association. He enjoyed history, basketball, photography, computers and had a knack for fixing things. He possessed a passion for flying and recently completed the renovation of his hangar. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by those that knew him. He is survived by his father, and children, Richard and his wife, Elaine, of Scarborough and Keith of Montreal, P.Q.; two brothers, Allan and his wife, Judith, of Eastport and William and his wife, Jan, of Sedgewick; Kathleen of Waterboro; several nieces and nephews; and a grandson, Noah. Visiting hours will be 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, at Flagg’s Funeral Home, 72 High St., Eastport. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Blakey Memorial United Methodist Church, High Street, Eastport.
