FORT KENT – Rena (Guerette) Gagnon, 84, wife of the late Lawrence Gagnon, died Feb. 4, 2005, at a Fort Kent healthcare facility surrounded by her children. She was born July 17, 1920, in St. Agatha the daughter of Fortunant and Emma (Bourgoin) Guerette. She worked as a cook for SAD 27 Elementary School for 17 years, and also worked as a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne of Fort Kent, a member of RSVP. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence in 1982; her son, Bob Gagnon in 2002. She is survived by her three children, Barbara Perkins and her husband, Leighton, of Presque Isle, Lawrence Gene Gagnon and his wife, Claudette, of Glenburn, and Beulah “B” Follansbee and her husband, Mark, of Fairfield; and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Gagnon of Rockland; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday and 9 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Spring burial will be in the parish cemetery on May 18, 2005. Those who wish may donate in her memory to the Bob Gagnon Cancer Fund, care of Northeast Health, 22 White St., Rockland, ME 04841.
