GREENVILLE – Phyllis Kirkwood Folsom, 86, of Greenville died May 25, 2005, in Lewiston. She was born Aug. 8, 1918, in the Simon Maheu House, Rockwood, the daughter of Hugh Forrester and Stella (Johnson) Kirkwood. She was a 1936 graduate of Cony High School and studied nursing at Maine General Hospital in Portland. She married Howard L. Folsom of the Folsom Farm, Day’s Academy Grant, Moosehead Lake, Nov. 18, 1939. She lived on Moosehead Lake most of her life. She had a keen interest in the area. She loved music, history, and literature; and passed on her desire for education to her children. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Weymouth and husband, Peter, of Auburn and Blanchard, and M. Nancy Weed of Scarborough; two sons, William Robert Folsom and wife, Karen, of Rockwood, and Thomas Roy Folsom and wife, Dianne, of Presque Isle; eight grandchildren, Eleanor, Stan. David, Tracy, Marjorie, Robert, Trevor and Kyle; two step-grandchildren, Kathy and Sharon; two great-grand-children, Levi and Abigail; two great-stepgrandchildren, Will and Nicole. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard; two sisters, Eleanor E. Arsenault of Rockwood and Weltha P. Holmes of Portland; two brothers, Robert G. Kirk-wood of California and Hugh C. Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be scheduled at a later date.
