STEUBEN – Olive “G.G.” H. Coffin, 96, went to be with the Lord, Feb. 1, 2008, at Narraguagus Bay Health Care Facility, Milbridge. She was born Feb. 14, 1911, in Steuben, the daughter of the late Van Follett Dyer and Elizabeth (Densmore) Dyer. Olive was a loving, caring mother and grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved children, gardening, crossword puzzles and feeding birds at her home in Steuben. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Harrington, and also attended Steuben Union Church with her daughter in her later years. Olive is survived by her son, Evandor Coffin and wife, Cindy, of Steuben; a daughter, Marilyn Grant of Steuben; a daughter-in-law, Iona Coffin of Steuben; a sister, Evelyn Yeaton of Narraguagus Bay Heath Care Facility, Milbridge; eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Carol Coffin, Phil Hodgkins and Joanna Strout. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Harland Coffin; a son, Richard Coffin of Steuben; and sisters, Emma Pinkham, Julia Pinkham and Margaret Bennett. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge, officiated by the Rev. Tom Rofe.
