MADAWASKA and VAN BUREN – Michael L. Cayer, 53, died unexpectedly March 11, 2005, at his residence on Parent Road in Van Buren. He was born June 12, 1951, in Edmundston, N.B., Canada, the son of Arthur and Adrienne (Albert) Cayer. Mick was a 1970 graduate of Madawaska High School, and worked a variety of different jobs over his lifetime. He is survived by his son, Eli Cayer and his partner Sarah, of Portland; his daughter, TaraLee Gerson, and her husband, Joshua, of Santa Monica, Calif.; his daughter Nikki Meserve of Portland; his granddaughter, Madeleine Shea Gerson, of Santa Monica, Calif.; his grandson, Elijah Meserve of Portland; his brother, Danny Cayer of Madawaska; his sister, Connie Cayer of Bristol, Pa.; his former wife, Jean Cayer of Madawaska; a dear friend, Esquaree Rose Payne of Van Buren; and other good friends. A true animal lover, Mick also leaves his beloved cat, Lucky. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, in Madawaska. Mick was a truly good man, dearly loved by his family and close friends, who are deeply saddened by his passing.
