OAKFIELD and HOULTON – Marion Larlee Brown, 88, passed away peacefully Nov. 20, 2006, with her family at her side at a local Houlton nursing home. She was born Jan. 14, 1918, in Caribou, the daughter of William and Ola (Knowlton) Larlee. Marion moved to Oakfield with her family and was a member of the first graduating class of 1935 at Oakfield Community High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Maine – Orono and taught school in the Oakfield area for 31 years. She was a member of the Maine Retired Teachers Association, Maine Education Association and the Aroostook Retired Education Association. Marion is survived by a daughter, Lynne Larlee Howard and her husband, Dan, of Penacook, N.H.; a grandson, Jonathan Stevens of San Antonio; a sister, Doris Imbrici of Houlton; a brother, Leon Larlee of Lincoln. She was predeceased by her husband, Leland C. Brown in 1988; brothers, Frank Larlee, Douglas Larlee, George Larlee, William Larlee, Arthur Larlee; sisters, Barbara Larlee and Joyce DelloRusso. Friends may call 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service 1 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Interment will be at Oakfield Cemetery.
