MADELINE JOHANNAH WEDBERG

NEW SWEDEN and CARIBOU – Madeline Johannah Wedberg, 93, died Sept. 2, 2005, at a Caribou healthcare facility, after a long illness. She was born in New Sweden, March 15, 1912, the daughter of Edward and Lillie(Hanson) Anderson. A lifelong New Sweden area resident, she was a school teacher for several years, before starting her own family and helping her husband, Charlie Wedberg, with the farm. For many years she was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Sweden and then later was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness of Caribou. For the past several years Madeline has been a Caribou resident. She is survived by two sons, Hartley Wedberg and his wife, Cheryl, of New Sweden, Alton Wedberg and his wife, Judy, of Gray; one daughter, JoAnn Kelley and her husband, Gary, of Woodland; one sister, Irene Jose and her husband, Bion, of Caribou; one sister-in-law, Marjorie Anderson of Caribou; eight grandchildren, Robert McCormack of Bangor, Aaron Wedberg of New Sweden, Carol St. Pierre of Monticello, Arleen Minard of Kingman, Ariz., Debra Tracy of Las Vegas, Nev., Susan Niles of Caribou, Kathy Poisson of Limestone, Ingrid Wedberg of Grey; 14 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Warren Anderson; and by one sister, Doreen Blais. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, with Brother Roland York, from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, officiating. Those who wish may call from 1 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be at the Westmanland Cemetery, Westmanland.
