ORLAND – Lydia G. “Gerry” Harriman, 79, died Jan. 7, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor living facility. She was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Boston, the daughter of James and Evelyn (Foster) Shaw. Gerry was a clerk for the town of Orland from 1986 to 1990. She ran several family businesses, which included Snowshoe hare, Christmas trees, blueberries and used cars. Gerry’s joy of life was her love and care of her family. She took great pride in nurturing and bonding them all together. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Marshall “Gilman” Harriman; and son, Robert L. Sanborn Jr. Gerry is survived by her children, Jill Sanborn of Orland, Paul Sanborn and wife, Kathy, of South Carolina, Raymond Fogg and wife, Dawn, of Glenburn, Jan MacDonald and Joe Wardwell of Bucksport, Ruthann Luttrell and husband, Mark, of Orland, Nikki Smith and husband, Alan, of Orland, Cecelia Ames and husband, Rusty, of Verona, Terry Harriman and wife, Heather, of Orland, Garry Harriman and wife, Kathy, of Bucksport, Alice Davis and husband, Jim, of Orland, and Andrea Caldwell and husband, Jim, of Liberty; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather for visitation 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Peter Remick officiating.
