MATTAWAMKEAG – Lurene A. Thompson, 74, died Oct. 25, 2006, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Oct. 21, 1932, in Springfield, the daughter of Ralph and Isabelle (Worster) Worster. Lurene was a member and past president of VFW Auxiliary No. 7409. She enjoyed crocheting, music, fishing and hunting. She is survived by her husband, Carl Thompson of Mattawamkeag; two brothers, Ralph Worster of Jackman and Walter Worster of Kingman; four sisters, Inez Osnoe of Lee, Elaine Scott of Springfield, Cecile Chesley of Kingman and Nellie Stevens of Lee; and her special cat, Princess. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Russell Worster; and a sister, Laura Thompson. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Mattawamkeag Cemetery with the Rev.
