ROQUE BLUFFS – Lloyd A. Watts passed away at his home on Feb. 5, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 29, 1923, at Roque Bluffs, the son of Howard and Verna (Johnson) Watts. Lloyd attended the Roque Bluffs school and graduated from Machias High School. He served for 30 years in the U.S. Navy. He was the town clerk for the town of Roque Bluffs and a member of the Masons, Shrine, Eastern Star and Jonesboro Grange. He is survived by his wife, Imogene E. Watts; a son, Fernald Rockwell of Northwood, N.H.; a daughter, Carla Corey of Lee, N.H., eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Lloyd was predeceased by a brother, Paul Watts; and three sisters, Doris Pettigrew, Alta Kilton and Alice Fowler. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10 at the Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 6 Cooper St., Machias, with the Rev. Bernard Brown officiating.
