BURLINGTON – Lewis L. Jipson Jr., 78, husband of Ione (Gillespie) Jipson, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Dec. 19, 2005, at a Lincoln healthcare facility. Born Oct. 30, 1927, in Burlington, he was the son of Estella (Toby) Jipson Eaton and the late Lewis Jipson Sr. Lewis was a loving husband to his wife, Ione and loved his children and grandchildren. Lewis worked in the logging industry as a young man with his father, then worked for Eastern Fine Paper and Dead River as a scaler and then moved on to be a forester technician for Dead River, until his retirement. He was an avid gardener. He loved to raise cows and hens. You could see him delivering his fresh eggs to the towns people on Saturday mornings. He loved to visit with all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ione (Gillespie) Jipson; his mother, Estella Toby Eaton of Lincoln; four sons and their wives, Joel and Brenda of Howland, Stephen and Shirley of Passadumkeag, Kendall and Amber and Timothy and Joy, all of Burlington; seven grandchildren, Eric Jipson, Jodi Jipson, Stephen Jipson Jr., Shelley Sides, Amy Kimball, Benji Jipson and Jared Lovett; eight great-grandchildren, Nevin and Logan Jipson, Darryn, Aleisha and Zachary Sides, Courtney Kimball, Sarah Jipson and Matthew Russell; a brother, Eugene Jipson and his wife, Willa, of Burlington; two sisters, Ethel Jipson and her husband, Herschel, of Burlington and Golda Stinson of Charleston; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Shorey, officiating.
