ORONO and BANGOR Leonard Raymond Noyes, 63, died unexpectedly April 7, 2004, at his home in Orono. He was born June 26, 1940, in Calais, the son of Vinal and Gladys (Craig) Noyes. He was a well-known car salesman and most recently retired from the Town of Orono. He was also a licensed auctioneer and antique dealer. Leonard was an avid reader, who enjoyed fishing, the outdoors with his special buddy, “Alfie,” and spent many weekends at the fishing camp in Jackman and camping on Russell Stream. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bangor, the New England Moxie Council, and Pacific Lodge No. 64 AF & AM of Exeter. Surviving are his wife, leslie dale johnson of Orono; three daughters, Wendie Legasse and her husband, Mark, of Glenburn, Jennifer Brewer of Florida, Holly Owens and her husband, Tony, of California; son, Kevin Noyes of Glenburn; one stepson, Michael Boucher of Bangor; seven grandchildren, Sara, Padrick, Danielle, Kristin, Kaitlin, Marty, and Ava; two brothers, Walter Noyes and his wife, Lorraine, of Massachusetts, Vinal Noyes II and his wife, Nancy, of Lee; one sister, Lola Piers of Massachusetts; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Stephen and Hubert; and one sister, Lorna. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Randall C. Chretien, pastor, officiating. Leonard’s final resting place will be in Rocket Cove, Jackman.
