LEONARD ‘BUS’ C. JOHNSON

CARY PLANTATION – Leonard “Bus” C. Johnson, 85, died March 23, 2004, at his residence. He was born Aug. 10, 1918, at Cary Plantation, the son of Fred W. and Lucia M. (Oliver) Johnson. “Bus” served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the DAV and the Odd Fellows. He worked for the Houlton Water Co. for 25 years, until his retirement in 1981. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting whenever he could find the time. “Bus” is survived by his wife, Edna (Foster) Johnson of Cary Plantation; his son, Fred M. Johnson and his wife, Lisa, of Gray; his daughter, Catherine “Cj” Virgie and her husband, Bart, of Thomaston; two grandchildren, Jonathan Virgie and Sydney Johnson; one brother, Larry of E. Hartford, Conn.; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Dunn Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Gifts may be made in Leonard’s memory to the Houlton Humane Society, care of Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton, ME 04730. <>
