LENWOOD L. WILLETTE

PRESQUE ISLE – Lenwood L. Willette, 77, died Nov. 11, 2004, at his home in Presque Isle. He was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Presque Isle, the son of Dennis and Clara (Tardy) Willette. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Len was employed at Potato Service for many years. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and harness racing. Many people in the area enjoyed the vegetables from his garden and the bean hole beans he loved to make. Surviving him is his wife of more than 43 years, Paulyne (Walton) Willette of Presque Isle; his children, Donald Willette of Presque Isle, Lenwood Willette of Florida, Peter Willette of Virginia, David Willette of Bangor, Dennis Willette of Presque Isle, Gene Gildert of Orrs Island, Michael Gildert of Presque Isle, Steven Gildert of Perham and Carol Finnemore of Veazie, 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a brother and sisters, Paul, Doris, Rita and Shirley; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceasing him were brothers and sisters, Earl, Margaret, Lawrence and Walter. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Palmer officiating. Interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
