SULLIVAN – Lawrence E. Sinclair, 71, died Sept. 7, 2007, surrounded by his family at an Ellsworth hospital after a long illness. He was born July 5, 1936, in Columbia Falls, the son of Bert F. and Lucinda E. (Morse) Sinclair. He worked at Waltham Watch Co., as a young man. He was a truck driver for Republic Van Line and R.B. Cooke, Massachusetts. He owned Sinclair & Sons, doing driveway care and roof repair; started Sullivan Auto Craft, doing bodywork on vehicles; he was also a cab driver for G.M. Taxi, trading, buying and selling vehicles. He opened a place of business called Discount Larry’s located at Long Cove, Sullivan, for 15 years. Everyone has known him as “Discount Larry.” He was a member of the Lejok Lodge No. 90, Ellsworth and Arbutus Grange No. 450, Surry. He is survived by his wife, Dawn S. (Morse) Sinclair; seven children, Bert E. Sinclair of Sullivan, Lawrence R. Sinclair of Lamoine, Rickie N. Sinclair of Hancock, Lucinda J. Sargent of Sullivan, Debra J. Sinclair of Mariaville, Tanya J. Chattley of Fletchers Landing and John H. Sinclair of Sullivan; 29 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, who he loved dearly; two aunts, one uncle and many cousins, along with many special friends that he held so dear. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Bert Jr.; a sister, Lucinda; a wife, Ethel J. (Sprague) Sinclair; and their son, Charlie Lee Sinclair. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be celebrated 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12.
