PRESQUE ISLE – Lawrence C. Day, 74, died Jan. 22, 2005, at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou. He was born Dec. 11, 1930, in Presque Isle, the son of Cecile and Mary (Walton) Day. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Lawrence was known as a hard worker and had worked at several jobs during his career including working for, Mable Shaw, Dr. Boone, Arnold Davis, Vera Estes, Hedrick Vending and S.A.D. No. 1 in Presque Isle. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Surviving him are brothers and sisters, Clarence Day of Presque Isle, Jane Day Ames of Limestone, Shirley Day and Claudine Day both of Presque Isle, Gary Day of New Britton, Conn., Gloria Day Belmain of Mapleton and Arthur Day of Presque Isle and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Pastor Bob Blackstone officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service. A military committal service will be held at the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle later in the spring.
