FORT KENT – Laurette A. (Pelletier) Dumond, 78, wife, mom, friend, teacher and guiding light, left this world as she entered it surrounded by her family Oct. 13, 2007, for a joyful reunion with her children, Susan, Debra and Daniel. She was born Feb. 13, 1929, in Madawaska, the daughter of Oscar and Amanda (Caron) Pelletier. Her passion was her family, grandchildren, great-grand-children, reading, knitting and cooking. She was a schoolteacher for three years for SAD 27. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Clarence G. Dumond of Fort Kent; and her six children, Christine Collin and her husband, Ed, of Winthrop, Ann Plourde and her husband, Bob, of Fort Kent, Elaine Martin and her husband, David, of Burley, Idaho, Eileen Bouchard and her husband, Dan, of Fort Kent, Louise Nadeau and her husband, Steve, of Fort Kent and David Dumond and his wife, Wendy, of Fort Kent, 12 grandchildren, three great-grand-children, many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two brothers, Milton Pelletier of Fort Kent and Richard Pelletier of Nova Scotia; and two sisters, Jeannette Voisine and Jackie Anderson, both of Fort Kent. At her request there will be no calling hours at the funeral home. Family and friends are asked to attend a Mass of Christian burial 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal service will be held after at the parish cemetery, Fort Kent. At the request of the family, those who wish may donate in her memory to Northern Maine Medical Center Cardiac Fund, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are being conducted by Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
