MADAWASKA – Laurence Beaulieu, 88 years and 11 months, wife of Alfred P. Beaulieu, passed away Feb. 29, 2007, at a Fort Kent hospital after a long illness. She was born March 3, 1918, in St. Jacques, New Brunswick, the daughter of Calixe and Elena (Couturier) Bouchard. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Daughters of Isabella for more than 58 years. In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by six sons, Real and his wife, Martha, of Miami, Guildo of Fort Pierce, Fla., Conrad and his wife, Rachel, Donald and his wife, Mona, Paul and his wife, Jackie, all of Madawaska and Ken of Dallas; two daughters, Gaetane Beaulieu of Montreal, Province of Quebec and Muriel Deschaine and her husband, Don, of Madawaska; five brothers, Gilbert Bouchard and his wife, Jeannita, of Quebec, Claude Bouchard and his wife, Jeannine, of St. Basil, New Brunswick, Guy Bouchard and his wife, Simone and Camille Bouchard, all of Edmundston, New Brunswick and Bertrand Bouchard of Kingston, Ontario; three sisters, Leda Corbin of St. Jacques, New Brunswick, Evelyn Cyr and her husband, Ernest, of St. Jacques, New Brunswick and Therese Francoeur and her husband, Yvon, of Edmundston, New Brunswick; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Roger; two brothers, Real and Rosaire; two sisters, Monique and Anne. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Madawaska. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday until time of services at Daigle Funeral Home. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
