SWANVILLE – Kenneth L. “Kenny” Nickerson, 62, passed away June 13, 2007, surrounded by his family at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 4, 1945, in Bath, son of Lloyd A. and Velma K. (Page) Nickerson. He was a woodsman for the past 35 years, and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. Kenny enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He served in the U.S. Army. He was predeceased by his parents; a son-in-law, Raymond York Sr.; and stepdaughter, Wendy-Jo Dodge. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Kathy of Swanville; his children, Troy Huff and wife, Melissa, of Fairfield, Ramona Kidder and husband, Mark, of Sullivan, Jennifer Larrabee and husband, Jack, of Knox, Jeffrey Nickerson and wife, Katrina Littlefield, of Unity and Kevin Nickerson and wife, Tina, of South Portland; sister, Katherine Harjula of Swanville; brother, Emery Nickerson of Swanville; aunt, Helen Parshley of Bath; 19 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; special friends, Roger Tripp, Peter Tripp, Bert Skinner Jr., Tom Beal, Frank Nickerson and Dennis Merry; and all the gang at Goose River Grocery. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at Smart Cemetery, Swanville, with the Rev. Ken Davenport officiating. Those who wish may make donations in Kenny’s memory to Hospice Volunteers of Waldo County, P.O. Box 772, Belfast, ME 04915. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
