JOYCE H. OLLOVE

BANGOR and WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Joyce H. Ollove, 88, of Bangor and West Palm Beach, Fla., died July 9, 2005, in a Beverly, Mass. nursing home. The daughter of Samuel and Susan Cohen, she was born Aug. 11, 1916, in Bangor. She graduated from Bangor High School and later from Simmons College. She married Air Force First Lieutenant Morris Ollove in Ocala, Fla. during World War II and moved to Providence, R.I., while Mr. Ollove served as an intelligence officer in Europe. The couple settled in Bangor in 1949. A year later Mr. Ollove founded Stevens Studios with his brother, Allen Ollove. Mrs. Ollove worked in the photography business for many years, helping Stevens Studios to become at one time the largest college yearbook photographer in the country. She was an active member of the Hadassah Sisterhood and the Beth Israel Congregation. In 1974, the Ollove’s moved to West Palm Beach, Fla. and eventually sold their home in Bangor to settle permanently in Florida. Mrs. Ollove became an active volunteer for the Morse Geriatric Center in West Palm Beach. She is survived by her son, Stephen; his wife, Phyllis; and her grandchildren, Jesse and Suzanna Ollove of Hamilton, Mass. Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Menorah Gardens, West Palm Beach, Fla.
