ORRINGTON – John J. Jeskey, 80, went to be with the Lord, Feb. 24, 2006. He was born May 23, 1925, in South Orange, N.J., to John S. and Helen G. (Scott) Jeskey. He graduated from South Orange High School, then entered the U.S. Navy July of 1943, where he served until May 1946. Jack was a graduate of Seton Hall University and Michigan State University and began an illustrious teaching career beginning in New Jersey and ending at Orono High School, where he taught for 28 years. He retired in 1988. Jack joined Calvary Baptist Church in Brewer in 1961, where he served in many different capacities, including the boards of trustees and deacons. He also was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent. Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Justine F. Jeskey of Orrington. He was the father of three children, Richard Jeskey and his wife, Kimbly, of Newport, Melanie Pelletier and her husband, Scott, of Orrington, and David Jeskey and his wife, Janet, of Bangor. He had eight grandchildren, Corey, Garret, Andrew and Claire Jeskey of Newport, Nicole Griffin of Levant and Nicholas Pelletier of Orrington and Daniel and Kaitlin Jeskey of Bangor. Visiting hours will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Calvary Baptist Church, 61 State St., Brewer, with the Rev. Roger Davis, pastor and the Rev. Henry Snyder, officiating. Fellowship and refreshments to follow in the lower auditorium of the Church. Interment will be in the spring.
