JOHN F. McALEER

ORONO – John McAleer, 53, died Dec. 19, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Feb. 7, 1950, in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., the son of Frederick and Anne (McSherry) McAleer. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. John was born and raised in New York. He had a long career with AT&T. Surviving are his mother, Anne McAleer of Orono; three sons, Christopher McAleer of Salem, Mass., Michael McAleer of Lynn, Mass., Brian McAleer, currently on active duty in Kuwait, U.S. Army; one grandson, Dylan McAleer of Salem, Mass.; one brother, Michael and his wife, Cynthia McAleer of Orono; two nephews, Patrick and Jack; and a niece, Molly. John was predeceased by his father, Frederick McAleer, Sept. 7, 1998. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, with the Rev. Joseph Koury, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Orono officiating. Spring interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Orono.
