PLEASANT POINT, PERRY – John A. Zanes, 69, passed away at home April 17, 2005, after a brief illness with cancer. He was born June 1, 1935, in Atlantic City, N.J. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and was a Vietnam veteran. He was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Eva M. (Nicholas) Zanes. He is survived by one sister, Nancy Sparks of New Jersey; his children, Darryl J. Nicholas, and wife, Gail, of Indian Township, Frances L. Nicholas and Michael Sullivan of Pleasant Point, David J. Nicholas of Pleasant Point, Alice E. Nicholas and Robert Carter of Pleasant Point, Alphonse A. Andoscia of Pleasant Point; his mother-in-law, Frances C. Nicholas of Pleasant Point; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Darryl Nicholas Jr. and daughter, Caedance of Indian Township, Ian Stevens and daughter, Kendra of Indian Township, Heidi Stevens of Indian Township, Steve Evans and Eunice, Lewis Evans, Melissa Evans, Dylan Francis, Eva Carter, all of Pleasant Point, Harley Andoscia, Charles Andoscia, Allyssa Andoscia, all of Perry and Christian Andoscia, Alphonse Andoscia of Pleasant Point. Relatives and friends may call Monday and Tuesday, April 18 and 19, at Alice Nicholas residence at 37 Warrior Road, Pleasant Point, Perry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Pleasant Point, Perry, Interment will be in the Passamaquoddy Tribal Cemetery.
