BROWNVILLE- James Sickler, 77, passed away Sept. 22, 2004, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Falls, Pa. Feb. 23, 1927. He was predeceased by his mother Martha Clark, his step-father Russell Clark; his sister Blanche Sickler; and his brother Herman Sickler. Jim served in the Army in World War II. He and his family moved to Maine in 1950. He was a self-employed wood contractor for 42 years. Jim loved to hunt and fish, especially fishing trips with his family and friends to Canada Falls. He also enjoyed trips with his family to State Fairs, Miller’s, and Foxwoods. Jim enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Jim’s great sense of humor always brought smiles to his family and friends. Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years Betty whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his son, Charles and his wife, Barbara; his daughter Judy Silsby and her husband, Chuck; his son, Danny and his wife, Linda. Jim had eight grandchildren who called him “Pappy”, Tina Preble and her husband Greg, Jimmy Sickler and his wife Ann, Judy Preble and her husband Tony, D.J. Sickler and his wife Billie-Jo, Susan Silsby Howland and her husband Jeff, Wade Sickler and his wife, Felice, Chuck Silsby and Arielle Sickler. Jim also had seven great-grandchildren, Timmy Sickler, Jessica Preble, Raymond Sickler, Clayton Preble, Maryanne Devine, Faith Sickler, and Mikal Sickler. Jim is also survived by his brother Ray, his wife Betty and will be missed by his special friends Carleton and Nancy Bowley. A memorial service will follow at a later date.
