HODGDON and BELGRADE – James E. Benn, 57, died Feb. 20, 2006, at his home in Belgrade. He was born April 3, 1948, in Houlton, the son of Frank and Charlotte (Arbo) Benn. James was a graduate of Hodgdon High School in 1966 and was a member of Hodgdon Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during Vietnam. He loved to fish and spend time with his family at Nickerson Lake. He is survived by the love of his life, Wendy Frost of Waterville; three brothers and one sister, Gerald and Carolyn Benn of Hodgdon, Sandra Malone of Haynesville, David and his wife, Linda Benn, of Waterville, Richard and his wife, Theresa Benn, of Hodgdon; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; the Stymiest and DeGroff families; and his cat, Molly. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at the Hodgdon Methodist Church, Hodgdon, with a time of fellowship immediately following. A spring interment will be in the Hodgdon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in James’ memory to Hodgdon Methodist Church, 568 Calais Rd., Hodgdon, ME 04730 or the Waterville Humane Society, 120 Drummon Ave., Waterville, ME 04901.
