CALAIS and PEMBROKE Irene Moore, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at her son’s home in Baileyville. Irene was born July 2, 1913, in Pembroke, daughter of the late Alo-nzo and Erma (Taylor) Lyons. She enjoyed attending services at the Baptist churches in Pembroke and Milltown. Irene enjoyed spending time with her family and visits from her pastor, Bob Hinton. In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her husband of 73 years, Herbert (Weston) Moore in 2005; two brothers; and three sisters. Surviving are a daughter, Helen Elsemore and her husband, Dennis, of Princeton; two sons, Waverly Moore and his wife, Bette, of Bradenton, Fla., and Gary Moore Sr. and his wife, Donna, of Baileyville; a sister, Merna Damon and her husband, Laurence, of Charlotte; 10 grandchildren, several great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law; and her special feline friend, Bethany, whom she adored.
