IRENE FARRAN BANGOR – Irene Farran, 88, left to join her family on May 10, 2004. She was born Jan. 16, 1916, in Darwin, England, the daughter of Roger and Jane (Almond) Farran. She was predeceased by her sisters, Phyllis, Florence, Arlene (Supranovich); and brother, Raymond. She is survived by sister-in-law, Florence Farran of Burnham, Pa.; nieces, Suzanne Williams of Camden, and Pamela Guss of Lewiston, Pa.; special “nieces,” Editha and Misty Young; and nephew, John Supranovich of Bangor, her caregiver since 1998. Special thanks to the Westgate Manor staff for their tender care of our feisty “little bird.” Aunt Irene loved animals, Sebago Lake, piano, violin and travel. She was a generous supporter of COMBAT, Maine’s consumer organization. She will rest by her beloved sister and companion, Phyllis, in Forest City Cemetery, South Portland. Goodnight, Irene, goodnight.
